Diflucan (Fluconazole)

Diflucan is a medicine used to treat vaginal yeast infections. It is also used to treat certain fungal infections in your body. These infections are called oropharyngeal candidiasis, esophageal candidiasis, and cryptococcal meningitis in patients with AIDS. In addition, Diflucan is used to lower the risk of fungal infections in people undergoing bone marrow transplants who are receiving chemotherapy. Dilfucan is available in tablets, an oral suspension, and an intravenous solution (administered through a vein in your arm).

Diflucan can cause liver damage. Tell your doctor if your skin or eyes become yellow, your urine turns a darker color, your stools are light-colored, if you vomit or feel like vomiting, or if you have severe skin itching. Diflucan can cause serious allergic reactions or serious skin reactions. Tell your doctor right away if you experience shortness of breath; coughing; wheezing; fever; chills; throbbing of your heart or ears; swelling of your eyelids, face, mouth, neck, or any other part of your body; skin rash; hives, or skin blistering or peeling. Dilfucan can cause QT prolongation (very fast or abnormal heartbeats) or arrhythmias (life-threatening irregular heartbeats).
