Norvasc 5 mg
Norvasc (Amlodipine Besylate)

Norvasc is a medicine known as a calcium channel blocker, which is used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain, either alone or in combination with other medicines. Norvasc is also used in people with coronary artery disease (narrowing of the small blood vessels that supply blood and oxygen to the heart) to lower the risk of hospitalization due to chest pain or the need for procedures to restore the blood flow back to the heart or to another part of the body.

Your blood pressure can become lower than normal during treatment with Norvasc. Tell your doctor if you experience dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting while on Norvasc. Although this happens rarely, patients with severe heart disease can experience worsening of chest pain, or even have a heart attack, when starting treatment with Norvasc or if the dose is increased. If this happens, call your doctor right away or go directly to an emergency room.
