Pepcid 20 mg
Pepcid (Famotidine)

Pepcid is a medicine used to treat ulcers in the intestines, stomach, or esophagus (tube that connects your mouth and stomach). It is also used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or heartburn, or to reduce stomach acid in certain diseases where the stomach secretes too much acid (hypersecretory conditions), such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Pepcid belongs to a class of medicines called histamine H2 blockers. It works by decreasing the amount of acid secreted into your stomach. Pepcid is available in tablets or suspension.

Pepcid can be used for up to 8 or 12 weeks, depending on the type of ulcer. The ulcer can heal within 4 weeks of therapy. Tell your doctor if you have kidney impairment. If you take Pepcid and have kidney problems, you can experience seizures or other effects on your nervous system, or irregular heartbeat.
