Xopenex HFA (Levalbuterol Tartrate)

Xopenex HFA is an inhaled medicine used to prevent and treat airway narrowing associated with certain breathing problems (such as asthma).

Do not use Xopenex HFA more frequently than your doctor recommends. Increasing the number of doses can be dangerous and may actually make symptoms of asthma worse. If the dose your doctor recommends does not provide relief of your symptoms, or if your symptoms become worse, tell your doctor right away. You can have an immediate, serious allergic reaction to the first dose of Xopenex HFA, with hives, rash, and swelling of your mouth, throat, lips, or tongue. This medication can cause life-threatening breathing problems, especially with the first dose from a new canister. If you experience an allergic reaction or trouble breathing, call your doctor right away.
